FAQs

Mindfulness is an evidence-based practice of learning how to be more present and aware of our current experience without reacting or judgment.

Using mindfulness techniques, we can learn to bring more kindness and ease to our body, thoughts, feelings and environment, exactly as they are, rather than getting caught up in the past or worrying about the future.

Recent research that looked at 28 studies with 1722 participants, showed evidence that mindfulness-based interventions can provide tools to use in stressful situations, promote a change of mindset and a feeling of social connectedness in patients with cancer. (2024, Psycho-oncology).

Other benefits of Mindfulness for the mind can include:

  • Increased overall mental wellbeing
  • Increased awareness
  • Increased self-regulation
  • Increased emotional intelligence

Benefits of Mindfulness for the body can include:

  • Increased overall physical wellbeing
  • Reduced levels of stress/anxiety
  • Reduced blood pressure
  • Increased body awareness
