Where else can I get help?

Here you will find various activities, living well with cancer advice, support, and more that are provided by other organisations.

Please note that Penny Brohn UK is not associated with these organisations, we are just passionate about sharing all the support that’s available in the cancer community.

What's on:

Move Dance Feel is a creative community for women affected by cancer. Whether you’re living with or beyond cancer, supporting someone through it, or grieving a loved one, their dance experiences are designed to support wellbeing, connection and self-expression.

They offer free weekly online sessions, as well as in-person retreats and weekenders – including at the Penny Brohn UK Centre – where women are invited to move in a way that feels right for them. No dance experience is needed, and sessions are led by professional artists in a safe, welcoming space.

Move Dance Feel supports women to reconnect with themselves and others, feel uplifted, and experience joy through movement. The sessions offer a holistic, creative approach to processing emotions, building confidence, reducing isolation and improving overall wellbeing.

To find out more or register for a session, visit https://www.movedancefeel.com/ and if you have any questions at all email: movedancefeel@gmail.com

Exercise is an essential part of cancer recovery, but it can be hard to know the best way to support your body after what it’s been through. Get Me Back aims to provide clear and specialist advice on fitness and nutrition after cancer. Founder, Sarah Newman became a Specialist Fitness Trainer after her own cancer diagnosis in 2018. Her classes are run completely online through Zoom and aim to safely challenge those who are looking to build up their fitness after cancer. They are run by cancer and exercise specialists, many of whom have had cancer themselves.

To join a class, you can trial for free by emailing sarah@getmeback.uk or take a look at an example here.* If you enjoy the class you can either pay as you go, or sign up for a monthly subscription to attend as many as you want.

You will need a few pieces of basic equipment including a set of light weights to get started (or bean tins/water bottles are a good alternative) and a resistance band. All classes are recorded and saved in an on-demand library for monthly members to access whenever they want to workout in their own time around the LIVE sessions. If you have any questions please do reach out to Sarah by emailing sarah@getmeback.uk.

We meet in a small group online over six weeks to have some of the conversations that often go unaddressed; we talk about managing uncertainty, how relationships are affected, processing your emotions, looking forward, and changes in your identity (among others!). We have three programmes running in January and applications are open now – you can apply following the links below.
