For over 40 years, Penny Brohn UK has been at the heart of pioneering an integrative approach to cancer, working alongside the best of conventional medicine and offering evidence-based lifestyle strategies that impact one’s cancer experience for the better. With an estimated 3 million people currently living with cancer, and an estimated 393,000 new cases of cancer diagnoses each year (as indicated by data from Macmillan Cancer Support 2023), now, more than ever, we are committed to our vision that states:

Every adult with cancer in the UK is able to access and experience the best of integrative cancer care, leading to better outcomes and quality of life.

This includes your patients!

How we can help

We have more information on our approach here, but at its heart, we recognize that no matter who you are, cancer has a devastating impact on ones life and those of their loved ones and friends. At Penny Brohn UK, we place every patient at the center of their own wellbeing, giving them back a sense of control and finding ways that support their concerns and what matters most to them.

    • We offer support online, in the form of group sessions, so that no matter where you are from, you can access the support you need.
    • We have a number of in-person activities, held at our centre in Pill, Bristol should you wish to connect with others who have been through a similar experience
    • We also have and continue to develop a suite of on-demand resources that are available to your patients, or their supporters, to make use of at a time that is more convenient to them.
    • Finally, it may be that a one-to-one personal consultation is more appropriate to meet their more complex needs and specific situation.

I am a Medical Student interested in Penny Brohn UK

We work closely with the University of Bristol to offer their medical students clinical placements in Integrative Medicine (IM).

Our placements are practical and experiential. Students learn a wide range of new skills that are useful in preventing and managing any long-term conditions, and can apply them to patients, families and themselves, whatever career path they follow.

When students are with us, we use the opportunity to explore how conventional treatment can be supported by incorporating a wide range of lifestyle approaches, including nutrition, physical activity and emotional support/ resilience building techniques; as well as complementary therapies such as acupuncture or scar therapy can support one’s health and wellbeing.

If you are a student and require more information, please contact the University of Bristol.
