Breathe away worry and anxiety
Breathe Away Worry and Anxiety is a new online service at Penny Brohn UK. The sessions are guided by facilitator Caroline, who will be sharing easy tools and techniques to use the control of our breath to improve our physical and mental wellbeing.
Each session will include an introduction to breathwork, a breathing technique focused on a theme and time to experience and integrate the new breathing technique. Caroline uses sound and guided meditation to lead to sessions.

FAQs
Breathwork is about taking control of our breath to improve our physical and mental wellbeing. As part of our autonomic nervous system our breathing happens naturally however it is the one part of our system we can take control, doing so can change our physical, mental and emotional state simultaneously.
A cancer diagnosis is a shock and this shock changes the way we breathe. Our breath becomes a little faster and little shallower, this over time puts more stress on our body. Becoming aware of how we breath and making small changes can have a massive effect on our mind, body and soul.

"I want to thank you for creating a safe and healing space in your Breathwork sessions for Penny Brohn UK each Wednesday evening. I have been attending since I started chemotherapy in September and using the techniques that you teach has helped me to manage some of the challenges of the cancer diagnosis and treatment. My anxiety has reduced and I am able to use the technique when sitting waiting for tests or medical appointments. During my last chemo session the nurse remarked on my blood pressure and heart rate being very good. I look forward to your sessions and feel very calm, relaxed and grounded after each session. Learning how to control my breath has given me back a sense of self control and agency and opened up a deeper sense of wellbeing for me"
