Retreats and Residentials
Come to the Penny Brohn UK Centre just outside Bristol, for a one or two-night stay. Our professional team is here to listen, support, and share practical ways to look after your health and wellbeing while living with cancer. These programmes expand on our online services, offering a chance to connect with others in a calm, relaxed environment.
Choose from:
- Relax and Restore (one night) – a chance to pause, rest, and recharge.

Dates for 2026 are listed below. Bookings open for two events at a time.
Each night, you can enjoy a stay in one of our ensuite bedrooms, with all meals and snacks provided for the duration of your stay.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Relax and Restore Retreat is all about having a chance to rest and enjoy some time out to reset. Whereas the Living Well with Cancer Programme is more about different workshops to explore practical, evidence-based tools to feel stronger facing cancer.
Living Well with Cancer Programme
We have limited places available and want to make sure that they benefit those most in need of support at this time. As such, they are most suitable for adults over 18 who:
- Have been diagnosed with cancer within the last 3 years or are living with an advanced diagnosis
- Have not attended a Living Well Programme (previously called Living Well Retreat) before
- Have limited experience of using lifestyle and complementary approaches to supporting their health and wellbeing with cancer
- Feel physically and emotionally resilient enough to participate in a group programme
Relax & Restore Retreat
Our Relax and Restore retreats are suitable for adults over 18 who:
- Have been diagnosed with cancer within the last 3 years or are living with an advanced diagnosis
- Or are supporting someone who has been diagnosed with cancer in the last 3 years or supporting someone who is living with an advanced diagnosis
- Have not attended another Relax & Restore Retreat in the last 2 years
- Feel physically and emotionally resilient enough to participate in a group programme
The Living Well with Advanced Cancer Retreats are for those with a secondary or metastatic diagnosis who would prefer to join a group with others who have this experience. Anyone living with an advanced cancer diagnosis is welcome to join either programme.
For our Relax and Restore Retreats, you can bring someone with you. They are welcome to join in on the activities or just take a walk around our Centre and gardens.
For the Living Well with Cancer Programme, you can bring someone to stay with you but unfortunately, as places are limited, supporters will not normally be able to join the activities, but they can enjoy relaxing in our house and gardens and explore the local area if they wish. If you would like to bring someone with you, you can let us know this when you request your place.
On our Retreats and Residentials, the day and overnight staff will be trained in first aid but they will not be able to provide any form of medical treatment, dispense medications or help with personal care. They will be able to assist you to get urgent medical support if needed.
When completing your Personal Information form to request your place you will be asked about any additional needs you may have, including for example any hearing, vision, mobility needs; or other support requirements that would help make your stay more comfortable. Where possible we will seek to accommodate any additional needs required. If you would like to talk to someone more specifically about your needs, please contact a member of our Client Support Team.
Please only select and book one Retreat date, as this helps us to manage our waiting lists. You can book one of each type of Retreat or Residential, so you can attend a Relax and Restore Retreat and the Living Well with Cancer Programme.
Bookings open for two events at a time.
We know things come up, and you may have to change your plans. If that happens, just let us know and we will do our best to offer you a place on another Retreat or Residential and transfer your donation. We do have a 3-day cancellation notice before the Retreat or Residential, so please let us know as soon as possible, after which your donation cannot be transferred to another Retreat or Residential.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that we can refund your donation, like all charities, we must follow charity law and can only refund donations in exceptional circumstances, as per The Charities Act 2011. If you believe your donation should be refunded, please let us know and we will be able to advise you.
We know that you may have to think about other costs to attend a Retreat or Residential, like travel or childcare, and we may be able to help with some of these costs. Our client support team (clientsupport@pennybrohn.org.uk) can give you more information on what is available and how to request it.
