Tea and chat (in-person)

At the Penny Brohn UK Centre in Pill, Tea and Chat offers a relaxed, friendly environment to connect with others. Whether you’re living with cancer or supporting someone who is, it’s a place to share experiences or simply enjoy the company of those who get it.

We’ve now created separate meet-ups for those living with cancer and for their supporters, so everyone can feel comfortable and heard.

Enjoy a cuppa in the cosy sitting room with views of the garden, unwind, and be part of a supportive space. If you’d like, feel free to stay for lunch afterwards.

FAQs

Tea and Chat is a bi-monthly in-person session hosted by a Penny Brohn UK volunteer. It’s a friendly and informal space, and don’t worry if you’d like to join but you’re not feeling so chatty, you’re more than welcome to come along and listen.

Connecting with others can really help lift our spirits. It can also help us to feel more relaxed and open. Meeting others going through a similar experience can also help us feel supported and understood, increasing our levels of resilience and wellbeing.

‘Tea and Chat – Clients’ is suitable for anyone who is living with a cancer diagnosis.

‘Tea and Chat – Supporters’ is suitable for those helping a loved one going through cancer.

Constance, the Tea and Chat volunteer will meet you at reception at 11am.

If it is affordable for you the suggested donation for this service is £5. Please donate here: https://pennybrohn.org.uk/i-want-to-support-penny-brohn-uk/ or in person at the centre if you can.

The session is open and gently facilitated by a member of our volunteer team. Discussions include all sorts of great topics and everyone who would like to speak is invited to share. Grab a cup of tea from the dining room and join us in the sitting room.
