5 ways you can support Penny Brohn UK this Autumn

As the leaves start to change colour and the evening air gets more crisp – we’ve got plenty of ways that you can support people with cancer this Autumn.

From getting spooky sponsors, to visiting Penny Brohn UK in-person, we’ve got something for the whole family to get involved in.

Let’s make a difference together!

1. Pumpkin carving competition

Date for the diary: Saturday 26th October is National Pumpkin Day!

In the run up to Halloween put your pumpkin carving skills to the ultimate test! Hold a competition with friends and family, or get the whole office involved. It’s so simple to set up;

  • Set an entry amount – £2, £3, £5
  • Pick a date – any time in October*
  • Get carving – draw out your most creepiest design – the spookier the better!
  • Scores on the doors – pick a couple of judges to award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

*If you want to use your pumpkin for Halloween it’s best to carve these 3-5 days before Halloween!

2. Get your ‘Stomp’ on this Autumn

Date for the diary: Sunday 13th October

Our annual event ‘Stomp’ is taking place again this year, with us taking it back to our roots and starting the event from Millenium Square in Bristol!

Stompers will start the day with a pre-walk warm up and some incredible entertainment to get you pumped up and raring to take on the trek! Then at 10am you will get your Stomp on and walk 6 miles back to the Penny Brohn UK National Centre in Pill.

Join us as we ‘Stomp’ for those living with cancer in October.

3. Join us at our Twilight Balloon Glow!

Date for the diary: Sunday 20th October

Join us for an enchanting evening in the Penny Brohn UK garden as we hold our first-ever Twilight Balloon Glow!

Experience a breathtaking display of illuminated model hot air balloons, glowing to the rhythm of music. Enjoy hot food and drinks, take part in our raffle, visit the glow stand, and let the kids have fun with crafts. It’s a night for all ages, filled with warmth and wonder. Don’t miss this special event!

5. Ready, set, bake!

With the return of one of the UK’s favourite TV shows, why not host your very own Great ‘Spooky’ Bake Off with a autumnal/Halloween themed baking competition?

Get your team together to create their most fearsome delights and you decide whether they’re a ‘trick’ or ‘treat’!

Sell off all of the creations in a bake sale to raise vital funds for those living with cancer.

5. Remember, remember...

Is your local community or group holding a bonfire or fireworks display on/around Tuesday 5th November?

Why not ask if you can host a collection, raffle or even take a percentage from ticket sales at the event to raise money for charity?

Get in touch with us if you need any fundraising materials to support this by completing the form on our website linked below.

We would love for you to get involved this autumn and support Penny Brohn UK. Please email us at fundraising@pennybrohn.org.uk to discuss any ideas you have.
